Hi all!
This week I'm going to review these two gorgeous dresses by UK company Vivien of Holloway
This wonderful company has been a favorite of mine now for a number of years. I currently own a few dresses, some tops and swing trousers by Vivien of Holloway. I find this vintage inspired company to design and construct well-made garments that are very authentic to the 1940's and 1950's. I really adore their 1940's inspired pieces the most. All of their garments are made in London.
The first dress I'm featuring for this week's blog post is this beautiful "1940's Tea Day dress in mushroom red", this dress is now sold out on the Vivien of Holloway website. There are though many other prints and colours to choose from in the Tea Day dress range. I'm wearing the size Large and I find that's it is very comfortable to wear throughout the day.
The fabric is made from a 100% cotton and has a 31 inch A-line skirt. It has padded shoulders, buttons down the front to get in and out of and side pockets.
The yellow and red mushroom print on the red background is so cute and unique to wear.
Accessories Include:
Red hair-scarf, bangles and brooch by Louella deville boutique
Red belt from another outfit
Yellow hoop earrings by Daisy Jean floral
Red shoes from Bait Footwear
The second dress by Vivien of Holloway is this purple 1940's "Runaround Sue" dress. Their are still a number of sizes in this dress available to purchase. I'm wearing a size 20 and I find it very comfortable to wear and has lots of room to move around in. It is a little bit big around the bust and waist, but I found wearing a belt, gives the dress more shape on my body.
Note: Vivien of Holloway sizing is quite different to everyday mainstream sizing, so always follow the sizing guide and measurements for each garment.
This dress is made of a 100% cotton, has a 32 inch A-line skirt. It also has pockets, a hidden zip down the back and a V-neck with a collar. I just love the three colour ric-rac around the pockets and the neckline.
Accessories Include:
Purple hair-turban by Who's that girl store
Brooch by Erstwilder
Earrings by Miz Smitten Kitten
Bangles by Louella Deville
Belt from Kmart Australia
Sandals from Big W
These photos were taken by my loving partner at the botanical gardens in Bundaberg, Queensland and in Maryborough, Queensland.
Next week I'm going to review two outfits by English retro clothing inspired company Freddies of Pinewood
Until next time!
