Featuring on my blog this week is this cute little Pink-Glitter Margarita brooch by an Australian business called Martinis and Slippers
This business is run and owned by a lovely lady named Alex. Alex has been designing, producing and selling her brooches for officially twelve months. Alex works from her own home in Melbourne, Victoria where she does the brooch concepts, does the rough illustrations, the artwork layout, liaise with suppliers, assemble the brooch pieces, coordinate the photography, writes the descriptions, does the packaging and then ships out to all her wonderful customers.
Martinis and Slippers was originally the name of Alex's blog, but then she wanted to start her own business selling cocktail and martini brooches, as the idea came to her after not having much success trying to find the perfect cocktail or martini brooch. She also sells many other brooches such as jukebox's, vintage Chevy cars, cat-eye sunglasses, lady silhouette's and poodles etc.
Martinis and Slippers do ship internationally as well as Australia wide.
The Margarita Pink-Glitter is currently listed to purchase for $24.95 (Aus). It's all made from acrylic materials, including the base, straw and lime slice. It's also been laser cut and has a vertical safety finding on the back to place perfectly on your garment that you would like to style this brooch with.
The size is 7.5 cm x 4.5 cm. It's such a unique, yet cute brooch to wear...I love it!!
With my new brooch I choose to wear my yellow Missy knitted top from Collectif, this top is currently listed for sale for only £7.00. There are only a few sizes left though, it also comes in pink. I love the cotton knitted style and how comfortable it is to wear.
My denim capri pants are from Vivien of Holloway
These pants are high-waisted, have winged pockets, have western style stitch detailing and a central back zip with button fastening.
These capri denim pants are made from 97% cotton and 3% elastane and are currently available to purchase for £45.00. Again these are very comfortable to wear.
Accessories Include:
Shoes from Payless Australia
Yellow Jelly bag by Sunjellies and ordered through Vintage Pip
Yellow hair-flower from Louella-Deville YOSPS
Sunglasses and bangles from a local boutique.
Floral earrings from Gigi's Retro Closet
In other news I had a great weekend on Saturday taking blog photos in a retro style cafe (I'm looking forward to sharing these photos on my next blog post). Attending a pinup workshop and learning some new pinup make-up tricks and hair styles.
Then on Sunday I went to a vintage car show and shine and participated in a pinup pageant called Take Your Tops off Convertibles all to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research. I had a really lovely day, I didn't end up winning a place but that doesn't matter as I was mainly there to have fun and help support a really wonderful cause.
Until next time!

DeleteSuch a wonderfully lovely outfit. This soft, warm shade of butter yellow is radiant on you, sweet dear. Your brooch is just fab, too! I picked up my first one from that brand (one of their adorable 50s car pins) earlier this year, but haven't had a chance to debut it on my blog yet. Sooner or later, no doubt! :)
