Lana Floral!

This week I'm reviewing this gorgeous 1940's style floral dress from one of my favorite vintage inspired brands Vivien of Holloway
This dress is the "Lana in yellow floral".  This particular print in the "Lana" is now sold out on the website. There are many other prints and colours to choose from still in the 1940's Lana style.  I actually own four of these style dresses, I just love them that much!  I adore the 1940's style, the longer A-line skirt length, the draped detailed neckline, the pockets and the many unique prints and fabrics to choose from.  All these dresses are limited in numbers for each size, so you have to be pretty quick to order one, otherwise they will sell out.
Only tiny downside for me personally is that around the upper torso area it is pretty roomy so I usually try and add a belt to give the dress more shape to it, for my body.
This dress is made from a light polyester, so the fabric is breathable and comfortable to wear throughout the day.  It has a side zip, two side pockets, padded shoulders and that distinctive draping square neckline. The A-line skirt measures 31 inches long.  As I mention above this particular style is sold out, but there are still many other prints to choose from.  Sizes range from 10 up to 24, just follow the size chart to your own measurements to get the best fit as possible.  I ordered size 18, as the measurements fit my waist, although it is a bit too big around the bust.
The Lana sells for £99 ($160 Aus) plus shipping costs.
Accessories Include:
Yellow Robbie Heels by Bait Footwear
Vintage handbag from a facebook buy/swap/sell group
Pink belt, earrings and bangles from Louella Deville Boutique
Tropical hair-flower from Gigis Retro Closet
These photos were taken at an old Queenslander house located at Howard, Queensland, Australia.  The Queenslander is called Brooklyn House
A Queenslander is mostly found in Queensland, Australia.  These homes were built for our hot and humid, tropical weather. They were built with verandahs around the home, made out of timber and built on low or high stilts.  This allowed for ventilation to help cool the house down in summer.
This gorgeous house was built in 1890.  The current owners open their home for tours and you can stop by for a Devonshire tea and a scone. At present the owners have their home for sale.
I'm very grateful and happy that allowed me to take my photos on their beautiful property.
In other news I've been working and over the past weekend, I stayed at home and caught up on some house chores etc.  I've also been trying to organize some sponsors for the Rockin' Maryborough Vintage Festival Pinup comps for September!

Until next time!

  1. Looking lovely, what a pretty setting too, that's great that the owners allow tours of such a historic building.

I have seen quite a few of the Lanas, but I think this yellow print is one of my favourites. Good shoe matching there! x

  2. LOVE this dress on you! The colors are amazing in it, and the hair flower is a great match.
What a nice backdrop for your pictures, too. I wish I had more options for pretty backdrops by me! I'm surrounded mostly by farms where I live.

    1. Thanks so much Bristol, i love finding new locations to take my photos at! :)

  3. The Lana dress looks beautiful, I love this vibrant print and it looks amazing on you! I'd love to try this dress style. Beautiful photos and location x
