This gorgeous 1940's sarong style dress is by one of my favorite brands Vivien of Holloway
I actually purchased this dress, for half price from Vivien of Holloway's sister store Shop at Christines
This store is based in Melbourne, Australia. The store owner Christine sells a lot of Vivien of Holloway's beautiful garments, for local Melbourne girls to come into the store and try on the vintage reproduction clothing for themselves.
The dress I'm wearing and reviewing for this week's blog post is called "Sarong Hawaiian Reef".
This dress comes with it's own matching bolero, you can wear it with or without the bolero - either way looks great! It is made from a cotton material (so has no stretch to it), it is also in a halter-neck, with a zip down the back. This dress has a boned bodice and a one sided, wrap - draped skirt. I love the length of this dress and the underwater sea-animals print on the blue background.
This exact dress is now sold out, both through Vivien of Holloway and Shop at Christines.
There are other prints to choose from on Vivien of Holloway's website or you can message Christine if you would like to order a sarong dress!
These style dresses do sell out quickly though, as there are limited sizes for each unique fabric print. The 1940's sarong dresses usually sell for £120 ($200 Aus) plus shipping.
Accessories Include:
Sandals by Bait Footwear
Hair-flower from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Necklace, Earrings and Brooch from Dottie DeLite Jewellery
Bangles from Los Flamingo and Louella Deville Boutique
Parasol from an ebay seller
These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago, down by the waterfront of a sleepy little seaside town called Poona in Queensland, Australia. I wanted to take these photos by the sea, to showcase this beautiful dress for you all!
In other news I've been unwell with a cold/cough, I'm feeling better now! Also over the weekend my car broke down, along the highway. I wasn't happy to say the least! I had to get it towed back home, it is now fixed. Fingers crossed I have no more problems with it, at least for quite a while.
I also took more blog photos, as well over the weekend. I actually took photos to be shared on a special blog-post by follow fashion blogger Lauren-Blair, her blog-page is called : Gracerock - Kellyroll, here is the link to this blog post: Twinsie-Tuesday
Thank-you Lauren for asking to feature me on your wonderful blog! xo
Until next time!

Fantastic colours in that dress, really bright and cheery - and believe me we need some cheer here in the UK right now, very unsummery weather!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you had a parasol to match, or did you buy it especially? Looks like the dress is a super fit on you. I think the final accessory is perhaps a cocktail? Especially if you could find a drinks parasol the same colour as your big one! Beautiful photos x
Thank so much Porcelina! Yes a cocktail would have been fantastic! :)
DeleteThis dress is fantastic on you!! Love the bright colors, and that background shade of blue is fabulous!
