My love of Instagram

I just love looking at all the awesome and beautiful photos on "Instagram"!
For about a year now I've been using the popular social networking site "Instagram" which I really love and enjoy using!

I'm slowly building a following on my own account which is @cherry_milla  please feel free to follow me!

My own personal photos which are called "posts" mainly include my outfit of the day choices and how I style these. Also any new personal items i have bought myself, personal daily images and competition entries.

It's really cool and makes it fun when you actually start growing a number of followers and receive likes or even comments from these followers on your posts, and even better still when you receive a regular following! (the same personal accounts liking and commenting on your posts).
This is an example of some of my outfit posts.

I also follow a number of instagram accounts as well and regularly like or comment on their posts!
But I only follow the accounts that I'm really interested in! For example similar outfit/fashion styling posts (rockabilly/pinup/cute/chic/vintage styling etc). I also follow some fashion brand accounts (e.g. Pinup girl clothing, Sourpuss), some celebrity accounts ( e.g. Madonna, Kylie Minogue) and even some of my personal friends accounts.

If you create your own account you get to make up your own username (e.g. don't have to use your own name like facebook) which I like, so strangers that look at your posts don't know your real name.

These photos are another example of my outfit posts.

From using Instagram on a daily basis I have gained a lot of fashion inspiration and ideas just from  following the accounts I like and want to follow. Just by looking at my Instagram feed regularly.  I also love seeing who I follow, what they get up to in their "everyday life". It does seem strange to non Instagram users but it feels like you get to know someone well, without meeting or even talking to them!
Here is an example of my personal items/life posts.

Do you use and like Instagram?

Until next time Cherrymilla xo

Sourpuss Clothing

A year ago I bought my first "Sourpuss" dress from a online clothing store called "Atomic Cherry". At the time I was looking up where to buy rockabilly dresses online in Australia and came across this particular online web store and bonus they were having a sale at the time.

So I had a look at their website and found a dress that i really liked the look and style of which was from the brand called "Sourpuss":

It's called "out of luck dress"
I love Sourpuss designs and prints, but I find their dresses are a little shorter then I prefer and also their sizes are somewhat on the small size. So you have to make sure you measure yourself correctly to their own specific measurements.

I also own a Sourpuss top and another dress from this brand.
This is called "The snack food dress", which i actually bought from their own website. I really love this print and design!
Both of these dresses are so cute! But I find "the snack food dress" a better fit for me, because i ended up going a size up, as my first dress "the out of luck dress" is a bit tight around the waist area.
Sourpuss is an American brand, their own website http://www.sourpussclothing.com/ also sells other rockabilly, pinup brand clothing, shoes, accessories, home wears and guys and kids clothing.

Have you ever bought anything from the "Sourpuss brand"?

Until next time! Cherrymilla xo

My first rockabilly/pinup dress I ever owned!

About three years ago I had a wedding to go to and I needed to buy a new dress to wear for the occasion. So I started looking for dresses on ebay, to find a bargain but nothing really caught my eye.

Then i thought about my friend who was really into the "rockabilly scene", so for fun I decided to look up rockabilly dresses, and let me say wow i was amazed! I didn't realize there were so many different styles out "there" to buy!

But at this stage i was somewhat overweight and didn't want to wear a dress that was tight fitting (e.g. a wiggle dress), so I narrowed it down to a swing/full skirt dress. Also I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress I might only wear once, then sit in my cupboard for like forever. So I decided on a budget.

From there i knew the dress i was going to buy!

It was this dress above it's from the brand "Chic Star".

"Chic Star" is a low budget brand that stocks repro dresses, skirts and petticoats. http://www.chicstar.com/
I've also wore this dress a year later on a cruise, and recently I've had it taken it because of my weight loss!

This is a recent photo of me wearing and styling this awesome dress. (2014)
But it wasn't until my weight loss and after joining Instagram and following all the lovely ladies who also wear this type of fashion that i really got more into the rockabilly/pinup fashion styling!
So for about a year now I've really started to buy reproduction dresses, skirts, tops etc that have a 50's flare and are from all different rockabilly/pinup brands!

What was your first rockabilly/pinup/50's outfit?

Until next time! Cherrymilla xo
