1940's Dress!

A few months ago I asked Jenni Porter, she has a store on etsy called Jacks Daughter
if she could make me a custom-made 1940's style dress.  After messaging back and forth, to decide on what pattern/design I wanted and fabric I liked, this gorgeous dress ended up being the end result as seen in these blog photos!
I love the pink floral and green leaves vintage cotton fabric. Other wonderful features to this dress is the cute little four faux green buttons, down the front and the same little buttons on the ruffled sleeves.  This dress also has a matching fabric detachable belt and a detachable little matching ribbon on the front at the top of the four buttons. It also has a side zip to get in and out of.
If you're after a custom-made one of a kind vintage dress please message Jenni Porter through her  etsy store Jacks Daughter, where you can also find already made up vintage garments including dresses, skirts, blouses, tops, play-suits and overalls to choose and purchase.
The pastel pink, black and green bangles I'm wearing with this dress is from Australian brand Los Flamingo  These are called The Tiki Twist bangles, I love the design and the colours.  They are made of resin and are 12mm in width and 69mm in diameter.  These bangles are available to purchase for $7.00 (Aus) each, plus shipping.  I found these, very lightweight to wear and they are easy to get on and of over my hand and wrist. Other colours are red and pastel blue, I hope to share these colours to on my blog soon in the near future.
Los Flamingo also sell other style bangles and colours,  hoop earrings and cute unique brooches.
Accessories Include:
Pink Sandals are from Bait Footwear
Pink wicker handbag is from Pinup Girl Clothing
Brooch is thrifted
Hair-snood and earrings from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Hair-flower from Louella-Deville
Pink back-seam stocking by What Katie Did
I would love to own and wear true vintage garments, but my current measurements, my budget and the lack of finding true vintage pieces around my area makes it near impossible for me to wear a true vintage dress or skirt.  That's why personally I prefer vintage reproduction and inspired clothing and to have dresses etc especially custom-made for me.  I also love the option of wearing fabrics and material that also won't fray. tear easy, fall apart in a washing machine and are much easier to look after than vintage fabrics from the 1930's to the 1950's.
What do you prefer to wear true vintage or vintage reproduction/inspired clothing?
In other news I had a little accident at home! On Sunday afternoon I tripped up the stairs and bruised my knee and really hurt my upper back. I think when I tried to stop myself from falling to hard, I must've twisted my body and back at the same time.  I ended up going to see my local GP and I ended up having two days off from work.  I'm okay now though, my back is getting better.  I was disappointed and annoyed with myself, as I was all dressed up in a new outfit and ready to take photos for my blog, I had to cancel these plans and rest up instead.
This weekend, hopefully I can take photos for my blog.

Until next time!
