Retrospec'd

This blog post is my review on the Australian vintage reproduction brand named Retrospec'd.

Retrospec'd are based in Australia, with all their clothing actually being Australian made. This wonderful brand sells dresses, skirts, tops and blouses, knitwear, pants and shorts, pyjamas and petticoats. Plus some menswear. You can purchase their fashion items from their official website which is http://retrospecd.com/ or from time to time ebay, or from some rockabilly/pinup/vintage inspired stores and boutiques that stock and sell this brand.

I have been wanting to buy myslef something beautiful from Retrospec'd for a while now, but it wasn't until recently that I currently now own two dresses from this brand. The first I actually purchased just before Christmas from an ebay seller for a very good price. It had previously been worn just a few times, so was still in a very good condition. This dress is called Vivian country life dress.
Vivian country life.

I really love the design and style of this dress. Also the country life print on it, so beautiful!

This dress fits me really well. It has a back zipper to get in and out of. I also love the lightness of the cotton twill fabric.

It's a full circle skirt, with many pleats. I do love the pleats, but it's a pain to iron!

Myself styling this beautiful dress.

So far I have found Retrospec'd garments to be of a high quality, with their items being unique, beautiful and staying true to the 1940's/50's style. Prices are on the higher end scale though, usually between $180 - $200 for a full-priced dress but from time to time, there are good bargains to be found especially in their "sale" section or from ebay or from other stores that may stock some of their dresses/clothing etc.

The next dress I ended up putting on lay-by from an Australian boutique called Miskonduct Klothing  http://www.miskonduct.com/  this dress is called Betty Fruit basket.
Betty fruit basket

Once again I really love the design and style of this dress as well. The fruit fabric print and coloring is so beautiful.

This dress has box pleats and the skirt is not as full as the above dress. I love the light cotton twill fabric, so comfortable and also fits quite well.

It also has pockets, comes with a matching belt and has a back zipper to get in and out of. Plus the low-cut back...perfect!!

Here I am styling this perfect dress.
Their sizing is quite different especially for each style and design of dress, so do make sure you follow the actual sizing guide that's up on the website for each garment piece and that you know your exact measurements if buying online.

I would highly recommend anything from the Australian brand Retrospec'd to any lady or man who loves wearing vintage inspired clothing.

Until next time!

Bernie Dexter!

 <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/12896805/?claim=38txwdvuf2g">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

This blog post is my review on the vintage reproduction brand called Bernie Dexter.

Bernie Dexter is not just the name of this vintage fashion inspired brand, but it's also the name of the  CEO, and fashion designer behind the label that is Bernie Dexter! This brand is based out of the United States, with all the fashion items actually made in the USA.
Bernie Dexter designs and sells pinup dresses, skirts, pants, tops and swimwear.
You can purchase any of these fashion items from the actual website which is: http://berniedexter.com/ or from ebay and just about any other vintage/rockabilly/pinup inspired fashion stores and boutiques that sells this brand.

I currently own one dress and one skirt from this brand. The first I bought myself was a dress, around nine months ago from my local rockabilly/pinup boutique called Cherry Tree Lane Fashions. This dress is the Beatrice pink poodle print pinup dress.

I really love the Paris scenery print on this dress, the cotton fabric and the pink and white colors.
The white bust bodice and draped neckline is so amazing on this dress.

This dress also has lipstick pockets and comes with a white belt.

Only downside, it's a little tight in the waist, but I  still wear this gorgeous dress.

Here I am styling this beautiful dress.
So far I have found Bernie Dexter to design and produce beautiful and unique dresses and skirts. Only downside most of the dresses are not lined and are somewhat expensive to purchase if you do actually pay full-price.
The price ranges is usually between $100 - $200 for a particular piece of item. But you can pay cheaper prices if you look out for "sale" items, of buy from ebay etc.

A couple of weeks ago I bought myself a skirt which I ordered from Gwynnies Emporium the website is: http://gwynnies.com.au/ this skirt is called Trixie in serenity bridge. I wanted to buy the dress version, but their was a mix up on my order with another company I was ordering through. I received a full refund, but end up buying the skirt instead.

I really love the light cotton fabric and garden style print on the skirt, with the greenery, flowers, water and bridges. It's so beautiful.
This skirt also comes with lipstick pockets.
Such a great summer skirt!

Only downside for me, is the length, just wish it was a little longer, like by two inches as it only comes to my knees.

Here I am styling this lovely skirt.
So far I have found Bernie Dexter sizing to be somewhat on the small size, as I'd thought a size Large would fit me, but as I stated above the dress I do own, is a little firm in the waist area. The skirt fits better though, as I actually went a size up to extra large. But if your are buying online make sure you go by the actual measurements, which you can find on the official Bernie Dexter website.

I would really recommend Bernie Dexter to any fashionable vintage/pinup/rockabilly inspired ladies, that wishes to own a unique piece of clothing!

Until next time!

Lindybop!

This blog post is about my review on another favorite vintage reproduction brand called Lindybop!

Lindybop are based out of the UK. This brand mostly sell ladies vintage style dresses, skirts, tops and petticoats.
Lindybop are another popular vintage reproduction brand. That sell clothing items for ladies, who are on a budget, but at the same time are well designed.
You can purchase any of they're fashion items from their own actual website which is http://www.lindybop.co.uk/  also from ebay or from most fashion stores and boutiques that sell pinup/vintage/rockabilly inspired fashion clothing items.

I currently own two dresses from this great brand. The first I bought for myself was around 8 months ago from ebay. This particular dress was for sale for a very good price, and I loved the look and style of it.
This dress is called: Grace black swing floral dress.
Grace floral dress

I really love the floral print on the black background, the design, cut and length of this dress.
I also love the bow on the side, and the gathered pleats, falling down from the bow.
This dress is made of a heavy cotton fabric, so it's good to wear in the colder months, whilst wearing a cardigan.

Only downside was this dress was a bit big for me, when I received it in the post. My Mum, kindly offered to alter it for me. So now it does fit better!

Here is myself, styling this lovely dress.
So far I have found Lindybop's clothing to be of a pretty good quality, and a lot of their items are really beautiful and truly do look like vintage inspired clothing.
Their prices range from $40 - $100 for a particular piece of clothing item (depending on where you buy from and if they're is a "sale" on or not).

The next dress I bought for myself was around 3 months ago from Lindybop's actual website, this particular dress was on "sale" for a really good price, plus I love the style and look of it. This dress is called "Jeanette" rocker cotton shirt dress.

I just love the 1950's/rockabilly style of this dress, with the red color, the buttons down the front and the leopard print pockets, collar and sleeves.

It's such a really "cool" looking dress, also the fabric is of a good quality and the top part of this dress is also lined.
Also I have noticed the sleeves on this dress, can be worn two different ways, depending on your taste. Myself personally prefer the sleeves folded over, like the model is wearing on the left.
This dress fits me very well.

Myself personally styling this awesome dress.
Lindybop's sizing I have found somewhat generous, for example the first dress I bought, was a little big for me. Just be really careful if buying online, make sure you measure yourself correctly and go by their measurements.
Apart from that I would highly recommend a Lindybop item of clothing for all you pinup/rockabilly ladies on a budget and want to own a popular vintage reproduction brand dress or skirt.

Until next time!

My dresses wishlist!!

Currently at the moment I have three dresses I currently want in my wardrobe and to wear myself of course!

Plus my Birthday is coming up soon, so that's always another excuse to buy some pretties for myself, or to receive some!!
The first is by the vintage reproduction brand called Bernie Dexter (I currently have this beautiful dress on order and hopefully it will arrive any day now).
This dress is called Veronquie dress in serenity bridge print. I just love the style and the print on this dress, just so beautiful! I just hope it fits well, when I received it in the post!

The next is from an Australian vintage reproduction brand called Retrospec'd, I've just put this dress on lay-by for myself through Miskonduct Klothing (an Australian boutique) http://www.miskonduct.com/

This dress is called Betty Fruit Basket in Black. I love the dress style, fabric fruit print and colors of this dress - just so very pretty!

The next dress I hope to receive as part of my birthday gifts. Which is from the vintage reproduction brand called Hell Bunny. I should receive this dress through my favorite local rockabilly/pin-up boutique called Cherry Tree Lane Fashion (you can find on facebook).
I would like either the lilac or green color one, which one do you think? Either color looks really lovely. I really love the style once again, with the white collar and poker-dots and the back of this dress, so stylish! These dresses are called Karen dress by Hell Bunny.

What dresses are on your wishlist?

Until next time!

Christmas Frocks!

First I just want to wish everyone who reads my blog post a very Merry Christmas!!

This is just a quick post about what frocks I'll be wearing this week of Christmas celebrations.

The first is a dress by the vintage reproduction brand Lindybop.

I bought this dress a couple of months ago from Lindybop's official website.

As it was on "sale". I love the red color of this dress and the leopard print collar, sleeves, pockets and buttons.

I'll be doing a review on my couple of Lindybop dresses soon, so I'll upload a photo then, of me wearing this dress!

The second dress I'll wear is from the vintage reproduction brand Hellbunny.

I'll wear this dress, because of the red/white/green colors, very Christmas looking.

I bought this dress about six months ago, from my local pinup/rockabilly clothing store, called Cherry Tree Lane Fashions - find on facebook.

I have posted a review on this dress in my Part II review on Hellbunny! Which you can find in my blog archives.

The third dress, I'm planning on wearing will be on Christmas eve, it's from the American vintage reproduction brand Tatyana.

I bought this wiggle dress on facebook from a lady who was selling it for a very good price, I love the red poppies and it's made of a lovely velvet.

In the near future, I'll write a blog review on this dress and post a photo of me wearing this lovely dress as well.

I may even wear this dress for New Years!

The fourth and final dress, I'm planning on wearing for Christmas day is a dress I won on ebay, again for a really good price. It's by an Australian vintage reproduction brand called Retrospec'd.

I really love the country style print, design and look of this beautiful dress.

As soon as I saw this frock on ebay I really wanted it!
Now it's mine!!

Once again I'll write a post review in the near future about this gorgeous dress and post up a photo of myself wearing and styling it!

Merry Christmas!

Until next time!
