Anna At Yengarie!

I recently received this dress from an UK vintage inspired clothing brand called  Dolly and Dotty
This dress is called the Anna Adorable 50's inspired swing dress, I chose the red and black striped dress but there are other colour ways to choose from for example red and white, yellow and white, black and white and green and black.
As well as the many wonderful dresses to choose from Dolly and Dotty also sell women's skirts, tops and headbands.  I actually received a matching headband with this dress, which I'm wearing in these blog post photos.
I would highly recommend on ordering yourself something from Dolly and Dotty, as there dresses/skirts/tops are quite reasonably priced and very well designed and tailored.
This adorable dress is made out of 95% cotton and 5% Elastane.  The size I choose fits me like a dream, I just followed the size chart supplied on Dolly and Dotty's website.  This dress is very comfortable to wear and will be great to wear in both the summer and winter months. For winter here in Queensland, Australia I can just had a cardigan and a pair of tights underneath.
I just adore the black and red striped print (as red is my favorite colour).  This dress has a simple scoop front and lower back neckline, has a hidden side zipper and has a full circle skirt with box pleats.
I added my own wide belt to clinch in my waist-line.
Accessories Include:
Black heels are thrifted
Glasses are thrifted
Sunglasses are by Collectif ordered through Gwynnies Emporium
Black Vinyl Belt is from Pinup Girl Clothing
Curling Cassandra cat Brooch is by Erstwilder and is thrifted
Umbrella is also thrifted
These blog photos were taken at Yengarie Gallery and Garden in these beautiful gardens you can have art lessons, have your own intimate private functions and outdoor garden weddings. Also you can use for special photographic backgrounds like have for these photos.
I had a lovely couple of hours out at these gardens taking my own photos and chatting to the lovely couple that owns and up-keeps these wonderful gardens.
There are many different style backgrounds you can use for your own photos for example a huge pond, an old style bus stop, an old boat and car, tropical style gardens, a garden chapel and many more.
I hope in the near future I can take some more photos here!
I've only got a few more days left of holidays, I'm back to work on Friday, yay....not!
On Thursday before going back to work I've planned to take more blog photos with Miss Vera Gin Vintage, which I'm really looking forward to, as it's more fun having someone to take photos with!

Yesterday I went out with my Dad to a vintage car show for a couple of hours, my Dad took some photos of me in front of some cars and I meet up with a few local pinup girls.

Until next time!

Pretty Pink Pinups!

I have another big weekend planned! This weekend on Saturday I'll be attending a festival called Decades. Which showcases vehicles, music and fashions from the 1950's through to the 1990's. I'm actually in the fashion parade, so for the last couple of days I've been planning my outfit to wear. I'm really looking forward to going, as I've never been before!
Then on Sunday I'll be going to a pinup picnic by the sea down at the Gold Coast, which includes pinups, rockabilly guys and dolls, meeting in a park and having a picnic together. There will also be photographers and lucky door prizes up for grabs!  I'm planning on taking my new picnic basket, a blanket and a parasol/umbrella on the day.
In these photos I'm wearing my Collectif UK white Gypsy blouse, my Banned Apparel flamingo skirt, pink peep-toe wedges by Williams Australia and a pink flamingo hair tie from an ebay seller.

On Saturday for a few hours I went to watch a pinup pageant in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness. Some of my friends were in the pageant. I also wanted to enter but I had to go to work that day!
Anyway all of the ladies had to entail the colour pink into their gorgeous outfits. I loved seeing everyone dressed in pink, as it is one of my favorite colours.
As well as the gorgeous pinups, their was also quite a number of gorgeous looking vintage cars and hot rods their too.
Off course I had to get a photo or two with some of these wonderful cars.  Apparently quite an substantial amount of money was raised on the day to go towards the breast cancer foundation, which was great to hear!
All the ladies were amazing with their little routines, there end up being a 3rd runner up, runner up and of course a winner. But everyone was a winner in my eyes, as it was for a very good cause!
I wore my new Nadine posy floral dress from Collectif UK  https://www.collectif.co.uk/
a pair of white shoes from Target Australia, pink hair-flower and cat-eye glasses from an ebay seller, vintage beads and my pink/yellow umbrella from a pre-loved clothing boutique.
All in all it was a lovely morning catching up with friends, meeting new ladies, looking around at all the cars and especially watching the girls up on the stage!

Until next time!

Retro Pinup styling!

On the weekend (Saturday) I went to a local Rockabilly festival, which was their first ever one. So being their first, it wasn't overly exciting! Hopefully next year there will be more to do, enjoy and look at!
I arrived there around midday and caught up with a friend and follow blogger Miss Vera Gin Vintage here is the link to her blog: https://veraginvintage.wordpress.com/
We had some lunch together, then had a look around at the market stalls (which were a bit disappointing, as there wasn't really any retro style stores), then we both had a look at all the vintage cars and took some photos of each other with the cars.
Then we both entered the retro outfit competition and had to parade our outfits, which by total surprise I won best dressed!! I won a pretty bunch of roses and a sash. There was also a best male retro outfit competition! The male best dressed and myself had some photos taken and presented a trophy to the owner of the best car on the field.
After spending a few hours together at the festival we both decided to leave, but came back a few hours later for the Rockabilly dinner/dance.
I wore my Tiki/Hawaiian style dress by Collectif UK   https://www.collectif.co.uk/
Flamingo sandals by Miss L Fire UK  http://shop.misslfire.co.uk/
Pink hibiscus hair-flower
Bamboo bangles and a flamingo necklace.
Miss Vera Gin, my Dad and myself meet up at the club for dinner, for a couple of drinks and listened to the Rockabilly band called Slap Beat, the band was quite enjoyable.
After dinner Miss Vera Gin and myself also entered the pinup parade, which was quite fun, parading around in our gorgeous dresses. Unfortunately neither of us got a place of runner's up or winner, even though I feel personally Miss Vera Gin should have received a place, as she looked awesome in her gorgeous dress!
I wore my new dress by the brand Tatyana  http://www.tatyana.com/
Black heels from a pre-loved boutique and a new pair of back floral stockings.

We both ended up having an early night, as it been a big day - with entering retro outfit and pinup parades!
I'm looking forward to seeing and catching up with Miss Vera Gin next weekend, as she's entered a pinup pageant that is for a good course towards breast cancer awareness and cure. Unfortunately I couldn't enter this time due to work commitments!

Until next time!
