On Tuesday this week, a couple of friends and myself did a little 1940's and 50's fashion show for the elderly residents I care for at a Aged Care Home. We paraded around three dresses each to show off to the residents, one of the dresses I wore was my Mary Blair umbrella print dress from Pinup Girl Clothing http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/
I wanted to do this for the elderly residents I care for because I thought it would bring back some good memories and reminiscing of days gone by. Also something different for them to enjoy, instead of the same old, same old, everyday activities.
Sorry in the above two photos I had to block out most of the background, due to privacy reasons!
I received great feedback from both residents and staff that I work with. Hopefully I'll be able to organize another one in the near future!
Here is another dress I wore to the fashion show on Tuesday my cherry print dress from Collectif https://www.collectif.co.uk/
I decided to take some blog photos in this dress, that same day. A friend from work found this old vintage suitcase in a store room at work, so I took it for future props for blog photos/fashion parade's etc. I decided to use my Mum's replica vintage phone for the above blog photo.
I accessorized this dress with my red cloche hat, Luxulite brooch, white faux beads and a simple red bracelet.
The night before I curled my hair using a wet-set with sponge rollers, I find this way works really well for me to curl my hair. As my hair is so thick and stubborn at times to do anything new/different with.
I'm looking forward to this weekend, catching up with close family members and hopefully meeting up with a follow fashion blogger and friend and taking some photos of each other for future blog posts!
By the way for all that's buying up big this weekend in the Black Friday sales...yay for you!!
Until next time!
