This glamours dress I wanted to share with you on my blog is from an Australian vintage inspired company called 1950s Glam
1950s Glam specialized in vintage inspired 1940's to 1960's day dresses and evening dresses, including swing/circle and wiggle/pencil dresses, some with a modern twist. All their dresses are source from manufactures and small independent businesses around the world.
1950s Glam is run and owned by a couple of ladies from Sydney, Australia whom are very passionate about the glamour and fashion of the 1940's/50's.
This awesome company offer free worldwide shipping on any order.
You can order a gorgeous dress/es through their website: https://www.1950sglam.com/
or please follow their facebook page: 1950s Glam
Which I highly recommend you order yourself something beautiful to wear and/or follow their facebook page.
This stunning dress is called "Evelyn" and is still available to order on the website, which is listed under the evening glam section.
This dress comes in sizes US 10 to US 16 I ordered size US 12. It fitted well on my bust and waist the only disappointment was the sleeves, they were to tight (I ended up taking to a seamstress to get the sleeves altered to fit my arms).
This dress is made out of satin, pongee and hard tulle netting. I adore the red colour and all the wonderful features to this dress.
Which includes: a built in crinoline (for a fuller look), a high boat neckline, sheer fitted sleeves (not elasticized), beautiful embroidering on the collar, cuffs and bottom of the dress, and the corset style laced up back.
I plan to wear this dress to more evening/glamour type events I attend, throughout the year or years to come.
Accessories Include:
Shoes are thrifted
Handbag thrifted
Red sheer vintage gloves from a vintage market stall
Hair-piece Gigis Retro Closet
Earrings and bracelet from Colette by Colette Hayman
These photos were taken by my Mum at the local town hall, the town hall was built in 1908 and is the longest running entertainment venue in the area I live in. This hall caters for a variety of functions including balls, school formals, expos and weddings. Plus of course the Maryborough Rockin Vintage Festival which will be held in September this year.
In other news I'm planning on going to Cooly Rocks On down at the Gold Coast, Queensland this weekend with Miss Vera Vamp we are driving down on Friday and coming back Sunday.
Miss Vera is the Miss Cooly pinup pageant on Saturday night - I'm really looking forward to supporting her and watching the other girls strut their stuff.
I've already started deciding on what I'll be wearing/taking with me.
I'll post next week about the weekend and how it went!
Until next time!
