For this week's blog post I'm featuring another wonderful outfit by Vivien of Holloway
I do love wearing and owning pieces from Vivien of Holloway they're definitely one of my favorite vintage inspired brands, because of value for money and their unique, one of a kind outfits.
These yellow 1940's inspired swing trousers are made from a light 100% crepe material, that has some stretch to it. The pants are high-waisted, have four side buttons to get in and out of and have a cute little pocket on the right hand side. Nearly all sizes are now sold out on the website in this exact colour, though there are other sizes left in other colours, for example purple, black and teal. I own at least five pairs of Vivien of Holloway's swing trousers, in other colours and fabrics. They are so comfortable, yet stylish to wear. You can purchase a pair for £59 ($97 Aus) plus postage.
The blouse I'm wearing is also by Vivien of Holloway it's the Gypsy top in a pink and yellow, sea sucker fabric. I do love pink and yellow together, so I was happy that this top goes well with these yellow swing trousers. The top has little capped sleeves and elasticated sleeves, neck and waist band. I found this top quite comfortable to wear throughout the day. It's available to purchase for £28 ($46 Aus) and does come in other colours and lengths for example the longer style, that I'm wearing and the midi and cropped style. Note: a lot of sizes have sold out, due to the fact there are only a limited amount of sizes released at a time for us vintage/pinup ladies to purchase.
Accessories Include:
Yellow "Robbie" Heels from Bait Footwear
Pink handbag from Sun Jellies
Brooch and necklace from Erstwilder
Earrings from Revere Folie
Bangles from Splendette and Susan Jane Jewellery
Hair-scarf is thrifted
After this week's blog post, I'm taking a few weeks off from blogging. As I'll be busy preparing for The Rockin' Maryborough Vintage Festival, it's on the weekend of the 16/17 September this year. I'm in charge of three pinup comps, so I have to make sure I have everything planned and ready for that weekend.
In other news I've been unwell with a cold, I've had to take the last two days off from work to rest and get better. Also as I have previously said I've just been busy with preparing the pinup comps for the Maryborough vintage festival. I have three comps I'm preparing for this year the 18 plus one (12 finalists in total) the teens (8 finalists) and the children's comp, it's for both boys and girls to enter. Hopefully it's a great weekend for everyone!
Anyway I'll let you all know in a few weeks how everything went!
Until next time!

Tropical Rainforest!
This gorgeous tropical 1940's inspired dress, was custom-made for me by the talented Anne Byard from Carnation Collectables
Anne and her business are located in England. As well as selling her own garment creations, including ladies dresses, swing skirts, jumpsuits/beachwear and men's suits. Anne can also dress-make your own special vintage inspired garment. She is also a Deerarrow and Erstwilder brooch stockist.
I'm so happy with the dress I asked Anne to create for me. I love the tropical fabric print and the vibrant colours. Other wonderful features is that this dress is fully lined, has a back zipper and is beautifully sewn. It also has a sarong style skirt, with draping down one side and a clip and a tie to secure in place.
Only tiny downside the fabric is cotton, so hardly, has no stretch in it. The sleeves were also a little tight, but still wearable, throughout the day.
I would love to order from Anne and her business Carnation Collectables again in the near future!
After receiving this beautiful dress I than asked Gigi Anne from Gigis Retro Closet if she could custom make me a matching tropical hair-flower to wear with this dress. I love the flowers and colours she picked out for me. The hair-flower is attached to a large clip and felt for easy placement in my hair. It's such a great statement hair-piece.
Gigi Anne hand-makes all her hair-flowers, shoe clips and fascinators. You can find all of these on her etsy page Gigis Retro Closet.
Accessories Include:
Pink sandals from Bait Footwear
Yellow tote bag by SunJellies
Purple back-seam stocking by What Katie Did
Tropical hoop earrings by Revere Folie
Bamboo bangles from an ebay store
Yellow/floral bangle from A Classic Paradise
These photos were taken in a rainforest along a man-made boardwalk, situated on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I would have loved to wore this dress and taken these blog photos on a tropical island with gorgeous palm trees in the background. Though this tropical rainforest I believe was the next best thing, with the very tall palm trees!
In other news I'm going away for a long weekend, I'm staying at a gorgeous B&B in Ipswich, Queensland for a couple of nights. On Saturday I'm going to a pinup inspired photoshoot and I'm in a pinup competition. This will be located at a retro diner and garage called The Barn and Scotty's Garage.
On Sunday I'll be taking more photos for my blog, in Ipswich. It should be a great weekend!
Today I was in my local newspaper to promote and support the Rockin Maryborough Vintage Festival for 2017!
I'm on the new formed committee and have been asked to help promote the festival! I'm really looking forward for this year's festival in September in my home town!
Until next time!

All The Purple!
I adore the Harlequin Bobbie Jumpers by Miss Fortune UK this is actually my second harlequin jumper I own. The first one is the Peach colour, I blogged and reviewed it last year here is the link to it: Peachy Keen
This particular Harlequin Bobbie Jumper is called "lavender fields". I love the purple colours and the harlequin/diamond print. The short sleeve jumpers are made from a stretchy acrylic, and are quite comfortable and warm to wear. As these jumpers are cropped to the waist level, I find they are great to wear with high-waist trousers, jeans and skirts.
Because of the short sleeves, I would recommend wearing these harlequin jumpers under a jacket or coat on a really cold day.
Sizes range from XS up to XXL and are available to purchase for £37.99 or around $65 (Aus) plus shipping costs.
There are many other colours to choose from through Miss Fortune.
I really highly recommend ordering yourself one or a couple of these harlequin jumpers by Miss Fortune UK!
These gorgeous wide swing trousers are from Daisy Dapper and are the "Dorothy Pants in Pink". These pants are very comfortable and stylish to wear and are made from 62% cotton, 35% polyester and 3% lycra. They are a zip down the front, two front pockets, belt loops and they come with a matching belt.
The sizes range from XS up to XXL, there are only a few sizes left to choose from. The other colours of purple, teal, green, red and blue, have many sizes left to order and purchase.
These trousers are available to purchase for £89.30 or around $153 (Aus) plus shipping costs.
Accessories Include:
Pink retro basket by Sun Jellies
Pink sandals from Bait Footwear
Hair-scarf from Louella Deville
Hoop earrings from Revere Folie
Bangles are thrifted
Brooch from Soda Sweethearts
Purple bead necklace from Susan Jane Jewellery
It's actually winter here in Queensland, Australia. This means I can finally wear my swing trousers/pants, jumpsuits, stockings/tights, jumpers and cardigans. I don't really enjoy the cold and at times I do find it hard to get warm! I do love being able to wear my warm vintage inspired fashions and not sweating my make-up off. What is your least and favorite thing about winter?
In other news I'm going to a rockabilly festival called Beachfest this weekend down at Caloundra, Queensland. I'm staying down their on Saturday night at a holiday resort. It should be a good weekend of checking out the market stores, looking at the vintage cars, watching a pinup competition and catching up with some friends. I also plan to take photos for my blog as well, I have quite a number of outfits I have to take photos off and review on my blog for you all in the coming weeks/months!
Until next time!

Tea Dress - Part Two!
Here is the link to part one if you have not had the opportunity to read it yet Tea Dress - Part One
The fourth 1940's style tea day dress is the Mushroom Red, I actually decided to purchase this one from Vivien of Holloway, because it was very hard to decide just on one to keep!
I love this one because red is one of my favorite colours to wear and the yellow and blue mushroom novelty print is so cute!
I really enjoyed deciding on how I was going to accessorize and style each of the six dresses, with my own shoes, handbags, jewelry and hair accessories!
I was also happy that I had a retro style belt that would go well with each dress.

Accessories Include:
Red flats from Bait Footwear
Handbag from Vendula London
Red hair-scarf from Daisy Jean Floral
Earrings and bangles from various boutiques
The fifth 1940's style tea dress is the Rose Grey, this one has pretty little flowers on a blue/grey background. I do really love this beautiful print and the pink buttons down the front.
I found all six dresses very comfortable to wear and also felt like I was actually wearing true vintage dresses from the 1940's, instead of vintage reproduction/inspired outfit.
My favorite features for all dresses is the length of the skirt (31 inches), the pockets, the light cotton material and the shirt style with the retro look buttons down the front.
Accessories Include:
Peep-toe flats by Bettie Paige Clothing (Ordered through a facebook buy/sell/swap group)
Pink basket by SunJellies
Hair-net and earrings from Daisy Jean Floral
Bangles from various boutiques
The sixth and final 1940's style tea dress is the Letters Brown. This novelty print dress has little green, blue and white envelopes on a brown background. I wanted to bring out the brown more by wearing my brown heels, bangle and belt.
This dress was another very close favorite to choose to keep!
Accessories Include:
Brown heels were thrifted
Vintage wicker basket is from Word from the Bird
Green earrings from Daisy Jean Floral
Bangle was thrifted
Cat-eye glasses from an ebay seller
Thanks again to my good friend Michelle aka Vera Vamp for taking these photos for my blog. The photos on this week's blog post were taken around some heritage style buildings and in Queens park in Maryborough, Queensland.
I would also like to thank Betty for allowing me to borrow her retro style bike.
What has been your favourite 1940's style tea dress from Vivien of Holloway, that I've shared and featured on my blog? If you have one that is!
Until next time!

Birthday Girl!
It was my birthday last week and I knew I wanted to take "Birthday style" photos for my blog. I decided to pose with balloons that would match my dress!
I actually had to go to work on my Birthday, so I didn't do anything special. It was really just another day, expect for all the facebook birthday messages I received! My Mum gave me a gorgeous picture print to hang up on my wall, a card and some birthday balloons.
I actually had to go to work on my Birthday, so I didn't do anything special. It was really just another day, expect for all the facebook birthday messages I received! My Mum gave me a gorgeous picture print to hang up on my wall, a card and some birthday balloons.

The dress I'm wearing in these photos is from an Australian brand Retrospec'd. It's called "Sun, fruit basket dress in white", and there are a couple of sizes left, size 12 and 16 on the Retrospec'd web-page to purchase. It is made out of 100% cotton twill, has a back zipper to get in and out of, a pleated skirt and has adjustable thin straps.
It's a great frock to wear over the summer months, because of the thin straps and the light cotton material. I love the fruit print on the white background and the red border on the bottom of this dress and the pleated bust-line.
Note: It didn't come with a matching belt, so I chose to wear one I already own from a previous dress.
Accessories Include:
Heels from Bait Footwear
Handbag by Sun Jellies
Earrings and bangles from local boutiques
Necklace by Collectif Clothing
Fruit hair-piece from Louella-deville
This week's blog photos were taken by my good friend "Miss Vera Vamp" at the botanical gardens in Bundaberg, Queensland and by a cool graffiti artwork of a rose under a traffic bridge.
In the gardens, whilst taking photos we were both being attacked and surrounded by annoying mosquitoes. As it was late afternoon and was really hot and humid.
In other news over the weekend my Mum, my sister and myself went out for a drive to the shops and had lunch together for both Mum's and my birthday's. Also I did some housework chores and took more blog photos of another outfit, that I'll share on here next week.
On Thursday it's Australia Day, which is a public holiday and I get to have a day off from work. At this stage I have no set plans for celebrating Australia Day - probably just a quiet day at home.
Also I'm on the countdown (in two weeks) until I go away for a few days and have some time off from work.
Until next time!

Retro Caravan!
A little while ago I was given the opportunity to review the most wonderful printed dress by a UK vintage inspired clothing business called Victory Parade Collection this dress is called the Polly Pencil Caravan dress currently this dress is listed for 99 pounds. Which converts to $190 Australian dollars.
I just love all the wonderful printed dresses and dress styles Victory Parade has currently on offer for sale, so many unique and fun fabric prints! The reason I choose the caravan printed dress is I love retro 1950's/60's caravans and it was a print that stood out and grab my attention the most!
I highly recommend on buying yourself a gorgeous dress from Victory Parade Collection.
Victory Parade's dresses comes in sizes XXS to XXXL I ended up ordering the XL which fitted my waist line quite nicely but was too big for my bust (due to having a small bust line) I ended up getting the top altered and taken in, which this dress now fits like a dream. This dress is made in a light cotton fabric, has a hidden zip down the back, has a back slit for easy walking, turnback red collar, tailored cap sleeves and red turnback pockets.
The times I have worn this dress I have received great feedback for example asking questions like "where is my dress from?", "oh I love your dress" etc.
I had to wear my Erstwilder Happy Glamper brooch with this dress. Such a great pairing!!
Accessories Include:
Red 'Gypsy Rose' hand-carved shoes from Lucky Lou Shoes
Bangles are thrifted
Vintage car necklace is thrifted
Red hair-scarf from an ebay seller
Red retro cat-eye sunglasses from an ebay seller
Yellow Sun-jellies tote bag ordered through Vintage Pip
These photos were taken with a lovely lady's vintage caravan called "Doris" the caravan is so cute and I'm so very happy the owner allowed me to take photos in and around her caravan, as well as using some of her props, especially her retro style bike. As I had been on the hunt for a vintage/retro caravan for quite sometime to take blog photos with - they're hard to come by in my area!
"Doris" resides on a tranquil private property and accessories/vintage business called Sunshine Adore here is the facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/SunshineAdore/?fref=ts
I ended up buying a couple of cute floral earrings from Sunshine Adore.
In other news I've been really busy working nearly every day this week, a few days ago I was offered another position at work, which I accepted so I'm really looking forward to trying this new role out for a few months to see how I go!
I actually have this weekend off, I'm just wanting to relax and catch up with some household chores, plus re-colour my hair ready for next weekend in the pinup parade and rockabilly festival!
Until next time!
