I have been eyeing of this dress for quite some time now, it's the Elizabeth Cowgirl Dress by Retrospecd
and when I saw it come on "sale" for half price I straight away purchased it.
I love the pink background and the retro cowgirl/western print all over it. This dress is made from 100% cotton twill, and is very cool and comfortable to wear over the summer months, especially here in Australia.
This dress has a back hidden zip and a pleated full skirt from the fitted waist. I love the lower front neckline and back-line.
Actually due to having a small bust-line a lot of dresses are too big in this area, but I find Retrospec'd dresses fit me quite well in the bust and the waist, as long as I follow their sizing guide for each dress style on their website.
This dress ranges from size 6 to 16 and is currently on "sale" for $99.00 (AUS) plus shipping costs.
I am wearing a petticoat underneath, as this gives the dress more of a swing/1950's shape.
Accessories Include:
Boots from an ebay seller
Pink Purse Lola Von Rose
Earrings from Revere Folie
Hair-snood from Daisy Jean Floral
Necklace from YOSPS
Bangles thrifted
These photos were taken at a country/western style property that mainly is booked for weddings and private functions. The venue is called Purnella Park Coachhouse
and is located near Hervey Bay, Queensland. It's such a beautiful location to take photos at, if you're after a country/western style backdrop. The owners even have a fairy-tale, Cinderella style coach to use for weddings.
I was so happy that the owners allowed me to take photos on their property, as it fitted this dress so perfectly!
Wow!! Only a few more days until Christmas and I still haven't finish my shopping yet! I have four days of for Christmas, and I'm just having a quite family one again this year.
I'm really looking forward to having the time off to celebrate Christmas with the family.

Diner Retro Barbie!
I knew I had to own this gorgeous print and skirt as soon as I spotted it on instagram, then on June Bugs and Georgia Peaches blog
I straight away sent a message to Dazey LaRue's etsy store, asking her if she could custom make me this gorgeous skirt to feature on my blog!
Dazey LaRue designs and sells custom tops, skirts and dresses from genuine vintage patterns. Plus she specializes in novelty prints, border print fashions and custom orders. Dazey is located in San Francisco, USA.
The retro Barbie skirt is made from a light cotton and is gathered, from the waist and it has a zip with button closure. I just adore this retro barbie print and the colours so much. A little background info on me when I was a young girl, I would play with my Barbie dolls for hours on end, either on my own or with my cousin and I/we would make up all sorts of stories with our Barbie's.
The peasant black top I'm also wearing is from Le Bomb Shop
This top is made from a light weight 90% cotton and 10% spandex. It has an elastic neckline, that allows for on/off the shoulder wear. The back of the bodice is also elasticized to allow for a custom fit and to get on and off, as there is no zipper in these tops. Only tiny downside for me, is the armholes felt a little tight up under my arms. Sizes range from small to 3XL and price is $24.99 (US). I also ordered an orange peasant top from Le Bomb Shop.
Accessories Include:
Black flats from Payless Australia
Barbie brooch from Deer Arrow
White hoop earrings from Revere Folie
Bangles and hair-scarf are thrifted
Wide retro belt from Pinup Girl Clothing
This week's blog photos were taken by my friend Miss Vera Vamp at a new retro diner that's opening up soon in Bundaberg, Queensland called RJ's Rock N Roll Diner
I'm really looking forward to when it does open, as from what I saw that was actually done at the time, these photos were taken a few weeks ago, it's going to be so awesome! I just hope the local people support the diner and keep it up and running!
In other news, over the weekend I had a lovely time at both my Christmas staff party and at the local Christmas carols in the park with my sister. This weekend I hope to try and finish of my Christmas shopping and hopefully catch up with my friend Miss Vera, we're talking about going meeting up a local beach.
Apart from that I'm on the countdown to Christmas and spending some time with the family and having a few days off from work.
Until next time!

Tropical Rainforest!
A few months ago I ordered my second dress from one of my favorite etsy stores called Hearts and Found
I have previously blogged the first dress I ordered from the same company here's the link to that: Colourful Chevron
I just love the idea of ordering from vintage inspired fashion companies that offer custom made dresses to fit your measurements, your dress style, length and fabric print choices that Hearts and Found does.
The owner Marjorie is very accommodating to answering any questions you may have!
There are many dress styles and prints to choose from, plus you can also purchase skirts and tops from Hearts and Found. All clothing are shipped worldwide from Vietnam, where Marjorie and her etsy store is located.
The dress I'm blogging this week is called "Margherita sarong dress Freaky Tiki in black and red Hawaiian floral hibiscus palm leaves print".
It's such a great dress to wear over summer (especially here in sub-tropical Queensland, where I live). It's made from a light breathable 100% cotton and I adore the tropical/Hawaiian fabric print. Other wonderful features is the sarong style, the skirt wraps across the front and ties on the side. Also the longer length (that I requested for my taller height), and the removable halter-neck tie straps if I want to wear this dress strapless!
It also has a back metal zipper, boning in the bust area for enhanced structure and elastic panels at each side of the bodice.
I highly recommend on ordering from Hearts and Found, if you want a well-made custom vintage inspired outfit that's to your personal style!
Accessories Include:
Black flats from Payless Australia
Vintage wicker purse thrifted
Faux pearl necklace Collectif
Hair-flowers and sunglasses from a local accessories boutique
Red-hoop earrings from Revere Folie
These photos were taken a few weeks ago at Noosa Botanic Gardens. These beautiful gardens are located on The Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I knew I had to find a tropical/rainforest background to take my blog photos wearing this tropical/tiki inspired dress! I just love finding locations that match the outfit I'm wearing for my blog photos! Just to give my photos a more authentic feel and look to them.
In other news this weekend I need to start buying some Christmas presents, as I haven't started yet!
I also have my work Christmas party this Saturday night and Sunday afternoon/evening I'm taking my sister to watch Christmas carols in the park!
I can't believe how fast this year has flown by and Christmas is nearly upon us, just crazy! I have bought a few Christmas accessories this year to wear, a couple of brooches and I'm waiting on a Christmas hair-flower from Daisy Jean Floral.
Also I still haven't receive any of my purchases from the Black Friday sales, hopefully I'll get them soon!
Until next time!

Forget Me Not!
I've been eyeing of the "Lana" dresses by Vivien of Holloway
for quite a while now, especially after seeing this dress style on other blogger web-posts!
I ended up purchasing myself one, about a month ago. It's the Forget Me Not, Lana dress.
As much as I love wearing 1950's inspired dresses, I also love wearing 1940's styles as well. I just adore the floral print and the longer A-line skirt of this dress, that gathers down the front. Other favorite features to this dress, is the deep-side pockets and the square neckline with the draping is just stunning! It also has light shoulder pads.
Only tiny downside, the Lana dresses have side zips (which I'm not really a huge fan off, I prefer a back zip personally). Also it was a little big between the waist and the bust-line, so I had to get it altered to fit better on me.
This dress is made from a 100% polyester and I found the fabric very light and comfortable to wear. The Lana retails for £99 and comes in seven other prints. Vivien of Holloway have vintage sizing, so always check their sizing chart for each garment, to get the best fit. Note: many sizes though have sold out though in all dress prints. Hopefully Vivien of Holloway re-stock many of these dresses in the near future!
Accessories Include:
Shoes are thrifted
Vintage wicked handbag from a facebook buy/sell/swap group
Hat is thrifted
Cat-eye glasses from a ebay seller
Pearl necklace gift from Michael Hill Jewellery
Earrings from Colette by Colette Hayman
These blog photos were taken at a Historical home called Orminston House The house was built in 1860's and was once a privately owned residence. Though now it's looked after and run by a dedicated team of volunteers, whom allow the public to view the house and the gardens on Sunday afternoons. Also there are many special events held throughout the year on the grounds of Orminston House.
As soon as I pulled up at the house to take my photos, a storm was about to hit, so I had to wait until the storm had passed to take my photos. Lucky a lovely volunteer was kind enough to wait around with me, until the storm had passed and for me to take my photos.
In other news I spent the weekend up in Bundaberg, Queensland where I caught up with my family and took blog photos with Miss Vera Vamp. We took photos in a retro style diner that will be opening up soon to the public, I'm really looking forward to when it does open!
Also I ended up buying a couple of goodies in the Black Friday sales!
This weekend I'll probably have a quite weekend at home and hopefully take some more photos for my blog as well. It's actually suppose to be getting really hot within the next few days, which I'm not looking forward to!
Until next time!

Beautiful Gardens!
Around two to three months ago, I spotted this gorgeous floral dress and purchased it from my local vintage inspired clothing boutique called Cherry Tree Lane Fashion
The price tag was only $60 (Aus) so I knew I had to own this dress and add it to my growing collection of vintage inspired clothing!
Another bonus it fitted me so perfectly, when I tried it on for the first time.
This dress is by Hell Bunny and is called Roslyn floral dress.
The blue and pink flowers set amongst the greenery on the grey background, is such a beautiful print. The bodice has a gathered bust, with two cute little bows, above and below the bust line. It also has wide shoulder straps, a hidden back zipper, a wide waist band and the skirt is gathered and is fully lined.
This dress is made from 100% polyester. It's very light and cool to wear in the Spring/Summer months. As I wanted this dress to have more of a "1940's feel to it", I choose not to wear a petticoat underneath, plus personally I find this dress style doesn't suit a full petticoat.
Some website like Cats Like Us and Unique Vintage
have this dress currently in stock to purchase.
Accessories Include:
Shoes from Bait Footwear
Blue hair-flower and pink-glitter hoop earrings from Daisy Jean Floral
Bracelet was gifted to me.

This weeks blog photos were take a few weeks ago, at the most beautiful gardens and private home called Vintage Rose Cottage
The lovely couple that owns and looks after the gardens and cottage, open their property to the public every Tuesday and the last weekend of the month. Guests are welcome to view and enjoy the lovely gardens.
Vintage Rose Cottage is located at a rural town in Queensland called Bauple.
In other news I had a quiet weekend of catching up on some housework and staying at home.
This weekend I plan to go up to Bundaberg, Queensland to see family and catch up with Miss Vera Vamp (Michelle) I haven't seen her in a while, so will be good to catch up again! Hopefully we will be taking blog photos as well.
I've also booked accommodation, flights and car-hire for next year in February, as I want to attend a big rockabilly festival in Ballarat, Victoria called Ballarat Beat. My Mum and sister are also coming with me so we can all have a little holiday together!
Until next time!

At the Beach!
This tropical inspired jump-suit is by UK brand Banned Apparel
I ordered through an Australian pinup/vintage inspired company called Heavenly Acessorize
This company is based on the south side of Brisbane, Queensland. Owner Tracey started her business about two years ago after discovering the 1950s style. Tracey ended up getting a couple of dresses for herself and got so many compliments on them that she thought she would start a business selling vintage inspired style to ladies in plus sizes.
Since then she now caters for sizes 8 right up to size 30 and sells many of the well known brands such as Banned Apparel, Hearts and Roses, Lady Vintage, Lindybop etc
She offers world wide postage, also Tracey re-stocks most weeks and puts her new stock on her facebook page. Please go and like her page and hopefully you may end up purchasing yourself something really stylish with a 1950's flare to it!
The jump-suit itself has both pros and cons regarding to wearing it. The pros first, I love the print with the hibiscus flowers and palm leaves on the blue background. Also the jump-suit style (I really love a gorgeous playsuit/jumpsuit), the pockets and the white fabric on top of the front bodice and the the little white buttons on the side at the bottom of each leg.
The cons is I'm not a big fan of the halter-neck style, as at times it can start to feel uncomfortable around the neck, also I had to re-adjust the back from time to time as it kept wanting to pull-down too much, especially if I sat down and stood back up again.
Note: This jump-suit came with a matching fabric white belt, but it wasn't really sitting right on, so I swapped for one of my own retro style belts instead.
It's made from 97% cotton and 3% elastane. I believe there may be a couple of sizes left in medium and Large and retails on Heavenly Acessorize for $70 (Aus).
Accessories Include:
Sandals from Novo Shoes
Wicker bag thrifted
Tiki drink brooch from Erstwilder
Tropical hair-flower from Soda Sweethearts
White hoop earrings from Revere Folie
Sunglasses thrifted
Bangles and fan from ebay and are thrifted
These photos were taken along the beach at Hervey Bay, Queensland. I chose a more secluded section of the beach to take my photos, as I prefer not to have any one look at me taking my own photos, if i can help it.
I didn't put any sun protection on, so I got really burnt across the back and shoulders, I'll have to remember to put sunscreen on when taking my photos, especially wearing summer style clothing.
In other news I had a lovely weekend away in Brisbane, Queensland. I took more photos for upcoming blog posts, caught up with family/friends and attended a pinup picnic in the park.
It was a stinking hot day on Sunday attending the picnic, but still I had fun there. I saw and said hi to some of my "pinup friends", had photos taken with a motorcycle, a big pink flamingo blow up pool toy, and in a country style setting, with hay bales. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these photos in the near future.
I also won a $50 gift voucher to use at Vintage Pip, which I have already used!
I'm already looking forward going to next year's pinup picnic.
Until next time!

Country Fiesta!
I purchased this gorgeous dress a few weeks ago from an Australian company that sells rockabilly/pinup/vintage inspired clothing called Aunty Charmings Rockabilly
It's made in the US by the brand Bettie Page Clothing and is called Sugar Beat (fiesta stripe).
As soon as I saw this dress hanging on the rack in Aunty Charmings market store, I wanted it! I love the colours and the Mexican style print with the guitars, sombrero hats, cactus plants, pottery and stripes.
This dress is made from a soft woven cotton material and is very comfortable to wear. Other features include the red band around the waist, pleated skirt, cap sleeves and a plunging neckline and back. Note: I had to place one of my brooches (lady beetle) in the neckline, so it wouldn't gape and for the sleeves to stay up on my shoulders and not fall down consistently.
Sizing ranges from 4 right up to 26, there are still some sizes in this exact dress on both the Bettie Page ($128 US) and Aunty Charmings ($100 AUS) websites plus shipping costs.
Accessories Include:
Shoes from Bait Footwear
Wicker handbag thrifted
Bangles thrifted
Red hoop earrings Revere Folie
Hair-scarf from ebay seller
These photos for this week's blog post were taken by a follow pinup friend at her beautiful Queenslander homestead, my friend and her husband's home is located on acreage in the outskirts of Gympie, Queensland.
We had a lovely afternoon together, eating yummy food, chatting and taking photos for my blog!
Here is a link to a youtube video about my friend and her entering "pinup pageants/competitions:

Please watch it, if you can, it's very entertaining!
In other news, over the weekend just gone I went down to the beach to take blog photos and got really burnt on my back and shoulders. I didn't apply sunscreen, naughty me I know! I shall be applying sunscreen from now on, especially now it's starting to come into summer here where I live in Australia.
This weekend I plan to drive to Brisbane, Queensland to attend a pinup picnic in the park on Sunday (had a lovely time last year and this one is going to be even bigger and better). Also I'll be taking blog photos down there at a another beautiful old manor/homestead.
Plus catch up with family and friends as well.
Until next time!
