Mary Rose!

I've been wanting to purchase a 1940's inspired dress from Heyday Vintage for a while now.  A couple of months I was able to order the Mary Dress in Deco Rose in Red.
Heyday Vintage specialized in vintage reproduction garments from the 1930's up to the 1950's.  Personally I believe their clothing look and feel like a true vintage piece!
They sell both Women's and Men's clothing, including dresses, skirts, tops and blouses, trousers, jackets, shirts and suits.
The Mary dress is a gorgeous 1940's inspired garment.  I love the white roses and leaves on the red background.  Other features to this dress is the back zipper...Yay! I much prefer back zippers to side zippers in dresses, so much easier to zip up.  It also has small shoulder pads and a pleated V shape neckline.  I ordered size 16 and it fits quite well on my body, even the sleeves are not to tight for my arms.  The material is 100% Matt polyester, and is lightweight and breathable to wear.  Sizing ranges from 6 up to 20, there is only a few sizes left in this print though.  Their are other sizes available in other beautiful prints of the Mary dress.  Currently this dress is available to purchase for £80 or around $135 (Aus) plus shipping.
Accessories Include:
Heels from Bait Footwear
Red wicker handbag from Pinup Girl Clothing
Brooch from Deer Arrow
Rose hair-flower from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Red back-seam stockings by What Katie Did
Sunglasses by Collectif
Bangle is thrifted
Earrings from a local boutique
I took these photos for my blog at a Japanese gardens, located in Toowoomba, Queensland.  It was such a beautiful place to visit for the first time and take photos there.
There are so many wonderful backdrops to choose from in these gardens, including bamboo trees, bridges, a lake, Cherry blossom Tress (unfortunately weren't in bloom), and other beautiful floral shrubs and trees.  I do hope to visit again in the near future!
In other news over the weekend on Saturday I went to a rockabilly festival down at Caloundra, Queensland called Beachfest! There was a lot of vintage cars and hot rods to check out, admire and take photos with.  I meet up with a follow pinup friend and we watched the pinup competition together.  On the Sunday I checked out more of the vintage cars and a rockabilly/pinup clothing boutique called Poison Kandy Klothing.  I took photos for my blog, before heading home.
This weekend I plan on having a quiet one at home, I'll probably also take photos again for my blog.

Until next time!

  1. That dress is lovely on you! Oh wow, I'd love to check out Japanese gardens. Too bad the cherry blossoms weren't in bloom, though.
